Completely revised for 2026, the new Fox 36 aims to be the best option for “all mountain” riding. The new chassis is 20% stiffer than the previous 36, getting close to the precision offered by the 38.
Fox have developed a new air spring designed to maintain smooth travel even when heavy riders are breaking hard. The “FLOAT Glidecore Ultra-Low-Friction Compliant Air Spring” keeps the air spring separate from the stanchion, so avoids any friction caused by twisting or flexing of the fork leg under cornering or braking forces.
The new 36 has a new, stiffer arch with cutaways, updating the aesthetics and shaving a bit of weight.
More bushing overlap, relocated bypass channels and a heap of smaller improvements make this the fork to beat if you're looking for a fork for a 140-160mm travel bike.
Performance Elite 36's have GRIP X dampers and Kabolt bolt through axles to save weight. As well as being lighter, GRIP X dampers are a bit simpler to set up than GRIP X2 dampers. GRIP X dampers have no high speed rebound and a high speed compression adjuster that works a bit better as a climb switch.
